5 Goals I Have Set Myself For April

For todays post, I thought it would be nice to share my goals for April. I find having them in writing means I actually have to stick to them and if you have some goals you have set yourself this month, maybe we could do it together?

Schedule posts in advance. One of my goals this month is to get on top of blogging a bit more. When I post, I am usually up till the early hours and schedule them for 9 the next morning, but I want that to change. It can be quite stressful when I need a post to go up when I am struggling to word things correctly or am slowly falling asleep at my laptop. So, in April, I would like to get about a week ahead of posts, giving me time to get them just how I envisage them; its going to be a busy week for me.

Start getting up earlier. Lets be honest, this one has been on my list of goals for months now, but since leaving school, I have had no reason to get up earlier, or stick to a routine and getting up later in the day is having its effect. I want to have that routine back and give myself a little motivation for the day. I am definitely not a morning person but if I learn a few tips and tricks to the trade, I would love to share them with you.

Post more on Instagram. In this day and age it can very easy to get caught up in social media and how many likes your post receives, but, nonetheless, I would like to be a little bit more active on my Instagram. By this I mean posting more on my account, and adding to my stories more often. If you would like to see how I get on with this, be sure to follow me here - I follow fellow bloggers back.

Stop spending. This one is pretty self explanatory, I need to start saving. If there was an award for the worst saver I would win it, I am awful. As soon as I have money I spend it and try to justify each purchase in the most ridiculous ways. 'It's for the blog so its an investment'; 'well I have been feeling a bit down today'; 'I need something to look forward to this week'; the list goes on. As with getting up earlier, I am going to share my tips with you all if I am successful - fingers crossed.

Learn Italian. Now I have left this one till last purely for the fact it sounds a little optimistic. I am of course not expecting Italian to be my second language by the time May rolls around, or even by next May, but it is something I wanted to do for a while so why not try now? This month I am just going to start with the basics, numbers, food and drink, useful phrases etc. and see where the language-learning road takes me.

What are your goals for April?

  1. Good luck with your goals! One of my goals is the same - starting to schedule posts well in advance. I've got an editorial calendar sorted which I'd like to think is step one. I just need to now create a nice backlog so I'm not rushing to get stuff done in the evenings after work! Also, just followed you on Instagram :) x

I have been bad at that. I call it self-investing hahaha ;)
Getting up early is a good goal too. It helps you feel like you've got more time to your day.
I have one main goal for this month which is to get another day of gym into my weeks. I do one now, but I want to take it up a notch. It will help me with my other goals on the long term.

  7. My goals for this month are mainly to keep on top of my studying so I'm not panicking last minute the night before my exams! That and I'm going to try exercising for 15 minutes every morning when I wake up, as I don't have a lot of time to get to the gym this month, so I thought baby steps will be better than nothing!

    Good luck with your goals!

  9. Such a pretty flatlay! Also, I too have to start scheduling posts because I haven't been writing very consistently, I find that I just write then post but it would make more sense to have a schedule to increase both the quantity and quality of posts that I am producing. It's so cool that you want to learn a new language, Italian sounds so fun. Good luck on all your goals! ashianashome.wordpress.com

    1. Thank you, and you should give it a go, though I really don't understand how anyone can be fluent in another language so easily without even living in that country lol, good luck to you as well!

  11. These are some really great goals! I also plan to post more on Instagram and to spend less, though the latter is easier said than done. I have a bit of an online shopping and Starbucks addiction

  12. I am exactly the same with online shopping, it is just so convenient and I find myself just drifting back onto the websites for something to do, I've had to delete the apps to stop the temptation! Good luck with your goals xx

  13. great post! We have similar goals for this month. I too want to start getting up earlier because I have been getting up so late for ages now! Also posting more on instagram. Learning a new language is so hard but such an amazing thing to do! I learnt LOADS of French and then got lazy and haven't practiced in ages so a tip from one language learner to another is to make sure you practice everyday! Even if it is for 5 mins xx
